Put yourself in the shoes of a parent with a child or adult child with a developmental disability.
They are 6 - What day care will accept them?
They are 16 and you still can’t leave them alone nor will they ever learn to drive themselves – you will have to take them everywhere they will need to go.
They are 26, out of school and they sit in their room in your house all day and watch TV because they don’t have a job, nor the skills to look for or keep a job. Oh yes, they still can’t be left alone.
What job do you have? Can you work at home? Is your boss understanding that your 36 year old son still can’t tie his shoes and will only wear his ANL t-shirt to work and you can’t find it. The hunt for the t-shirt for your 36 year old son made you 30 minutes late to work. Do you think your boss will be okay with it, since this was the third time this month?

The 3rd Thursday of every month you can learn what goes on behind the scenes at A New Leaf and see how we help parents in need. During your lunch hour join us for our Planting S.E.E.D.S. for Life presentaion and tour. Here is what we promise:
- Only 60 minutes of your time ~ 12:15pm to 1:15pm
- We will provide you with lunch
- Hear Success Stories
- Meet the People behind the Stories
- We will not ask you for Money ~ This is not a fundraising event
